Fiona Daly
Based in Wicklow Ireland, Fiona is an accomplished figurative artist, specialising in Portraiture. Having studied Sculpture in the 1980s she went on to work her way up in the Irish Film Industry over about 25 years, to become a Production Designer; telling the story of the film through objects, colours and environment. A fascination for psychology and the complex workings of humanity, brought her to qualify as a Psychotherapist in 2012.
With her creativity no-longer in harness to the Movies, a yearning to paint had her combing the centre aisles and filling her attic with art materials! Stumbling across local artist Rod Coyne’s (rip) still life classes a few years later unleashed her painter soul (and the attic-trapped art-gear)!
Attending lots of classes and courses to hone her skills it was during lockdown when Portrait Artist of the Year set up an FB event gathering artists worldwide to paint different celebrities online that Portraiture took off for her.
“I felt like I’d found my groove, it was as if my love for people and for connecting in a deep and meaningful way, converged with my passion for telling the story of a person through paint, colour, and design.”
Fiona competed in Portrait Artist of the Year 2025
